      Julien Dupre was noted for his ability to paint animals. Dupre was also linked with the Barbizon School of painters. Underscoring a continuing dedication to the traditions of rustic life, even during the latter decades of the century, Dupre concentrated on milkmaids, field workers harvesting hay or tending their flocks of sheep.

Beautiful item ! exactly the way it was pictured and it is even more impressive than any picture posted. You really cannot appreciate this without seeing it in person. The paint literally leaps off the canvas and provides a very dynamic experience.
