The appearance of each of Makart's ambitious historical and allegorical paintings was hailed with enthusiasm - the "Catherina Cornaro," "Diana's Hunt," "The Entry of Charles V. into Antwerp," "Abundantia," "Spring," "Summer," "The Death of Cleopatra" and the "Five Senses."
