There are twow different interpretations of this Biblical scene of Rembrandt. According to the first Rembrandt represents the reconciliation of David and Absolon, while the assusmes that it shows David embracing Jonathan. The painting is entitled in The Hermitage as David's Farewell from Jonathan.
