Alma-Tadema was an early and enthusiastic convert to this trend, and, as much as anyone else, brought depictions of antiquity from an archaeological science into his oil paintings.

Beautiful item ! exactly the way it was pictured and it is even more impressive than any picture posted. You really cannot appreciate this without seeing it in person. The paint literally leaps off the canvas and provides a very dynamic experience.
