      Well-known as Alma Tadema's sexiest work (barring some mythical erotica allegedly painted for Edward VII) The Favourite Poet has wonderful Moore-ish colours.
      Often poorly reproduced, the real painting of alma Tadema is a delight: you can almost feel the heat outside as the girls display themselves to advantage against marble and bronze, in dresses as thin as tissue-paper.

The painting is fantastic, just having trouble deciding where to hang it as it looks good everywhere. The painting was very well packaged and arrived in good time. I was concerned that it was coming from quite a long way away and might get damaged but I will have no concerns again. I love the painting so much, I am looking at purchasing another.
