      In the 1850s Rosseti met Elizabeth Siddal who became his model for most of his paintings , lover and in 1860 his wife. The brief marriage ended tragically when she took an overdose of laudanum. Her death provoked another change in Rosseti's art, with sensuous portrayals of women painted in luxurious oils replacing literary themes as the focus of his painting.

The painting is fantastic, just having trouble deciding where to hang it as it looks good everywhere. The painting was very well packaged and arrived in good time.
